I’m in my hometown in Germany since two days and as you can see I’m happy as a clam to see my whole family again! Even though it’s just for a few days the relaxed bavarian flair, the lovely people and my granny’s good food (I had Semmelknödel with Schwammerl aka bread dumplings with mushrooms today) is just what I needed.
And I finally visited the Neuschwanstein Castle & Hohenschwangau Castle with my mom. I drove by at least a hundred times in my life (my hometown is only 20 minutes away and the castles were on the way to my fave snowboard & paraglide spot) but I never managed to stop by and take a look around.

Sunday I went up highway 1 to San Francisco and stopped at Monterey – one of my favorite places in California as the nature is simply breathtaking.

Two weeks ago we spontaneously decided to book a short trip to Palm Springs to relax over the Easter weekend. Nothing but refreshing pools, nice interior design, good food and lovely nature. We stayed at the Ace Hotel & Swim Club, visited Moorton Botanical Garden, Sunnylands Center & Gardens, Coachella Valley Preserve, drove around the half day with friends and had the most delicious dinner with friends & family in the city. AND the one and other pancakes at Kings Highway diner. If you are into mid century modern design you should book a tour or drive around Palm Springs to get inspired. We also visited the Kaufmann house designed by Austrian Richard Neutra – really one of a kind.

We spontaneously booked a trip to Lake Tahoe to finally go snowboarding and spend a few days in the snow. Sadly there was almost no powder so no backcountry for us but the slopes were fun as well. As you can see I’m absolutely in my element! And how incredible is the snowy beach in South Lake Tahoe?! Definitely worth a visit!
